An Eastbourne based company has just launched a new and innovative tourism service. Eastbourne Holiday Campers is owned by David Irvine and is hiring out iconic VW camper vans for those who wish to re-live the dreams of their youth or just have a great holiday with a difference. The camper vans are brand new and manufactured by Volkswagen in Brazil so provide complete reliability (as well as power steering). The first van available to hire has been named Dolly and she is a real stunner.
David says “We started by offering holiday cottages in Eastbourne (www.eastbourneholidaycottages.co.uk) and this has proved very popular so in addition this year we decided to diversify and become more mobile. Many of our guests are looking for a two week holiday so we thought we could offer Eastbourne as a base and let them take off for a week in a camper van followed by a week in one of our cottages. From our research many people just love the idea of holidaying in a retro VW camper van but would not wish to buy one. This way we take care of all the administration and insurance and our guests turn up and set off (after a few necessary bits of paperwork).

The camper vans have a modern, powerful, water cooled VW engine with catalytic converter, servo assisted brakes, rack and pinion and power assisted steering (only available on 2010 models). They can accommodate four passengers with a double bed plus a roof bed (ideal for children). The outside stand alone awning can also be used for sleeping. Inside there is a fridge freezer, two burner hob, gas oven and sink with water pump. All crockery, cutlery, pots and pans have been selected to compliment the retro feel and provide you with everything you may need for your culinary delights. VW golf style reclining front seats, CD, radio, ipod docking station and four speakers add to your entertainment. Independent heating system, storage cupboards, and mains hook up cable for use at camp sites complete the home from home feeling.

As busy people ourselves we realise how important a holiday is. Time is a very precious commodity and not something we can buy on line or pick up at your nearest supermarket. Your holiday is something special, something you have worked hard for, something to cherish, something to look forward to. Therefore we can appreciate you need to get on and enjoy, not be bogged down in complicated paperwork or wait for someone to return your calls.
We aim to abolish frustration and provide you with excellent customer service from the moment your enquiry hits our in box or you reach us by phone. We know how important a quick response is and an answer to your questions - so you can get on and plan.
Whether you are busy 30/40 year old somethings, juggling the school run, after school clubs, ballet lessons, shopping and hoping for a quick fix the Camper van experience can be your haven (with or without the kids!). Welcome
Welcome to the first blog of Eastbourne Camper Hire. Over the weeks and months ahead we will keep you up to date with the lives of our VW Camper vans and the adventures they experience. Our first van Dolly is a classy VW camper van and will be popular for holidays at home and in Europe. She is a 2010 model and has power assisted steering which makes her fairly unique in the world of VW Camper vans. Power assisted steering has just been introduced in 2010 for new VW camper vans. Dolly was bulit in Brazil and brought to England by Danbury Motorcaravans who have fitted her with the latest interiors ready for your adventures.
